I recently had the pleasure to take a series of photos for local musicians McSherry O'Brien. With upcoming albums and gigs they needed a range of photos to work with. Taking our cue from music legends the Band, I used Color Efex Pro to work on some different styles.

Birthday in the park

Last Sunday I took my son Angus to one of his kinder classmates birthday in the park. It was a beautiful sunny autumn day with some fabulous food. I took the opportunity to fine tune my shallow depth of field focusing skills with the D800 and trusty 50mm f1.8. Instead of relying on a zoom lens, I used my feet as the zoom and kept the aperture wide open for maximum effect. Don't let anyone tell you that the D800 is limited to tripods and the studio.

Simons-Moemai Family

Last weekend I had the pleasure to photograph the Simons-Moemai family at their house. Instead of the usual park setting we decided to setup the portable studio in their living room. It was a fun day with my four year old son Angus joining me as my assistant.
